Newport Skating Rink In Jersey City Is Back Open, With Lessons
An outdoor skating rink in Hudson County, reachable on public transit (even from NYC), has reopened and offers lessons this year.

JERSEY CITY, NJ — Do you enjoy gliding through the ice, or want to learn? The outdoor skating rink in Jersey City's Newport section — a short walk from trains, ferries, the Newport Centre Mall, and the Hoboken border — has reopened for the 2023-2024 season.
"Skaters can once again enjoy beautiful views of the New York City skyline while zooming around the rink," noted a spokesperson on Monday.
The rink is a short walk from the Hudson River waterfront.

This year Newport Skates will also offer private lessons in partnership with Fireworks Skating Academy, as well as party packages.
You must purchase tickets digitally before visiting the rink.

Skate rentals are available for $7.
The rink, located at 95 River Drive South, opened this past Sunday, Nov. 12.
The hours are: Monday to Thursday, 4-9 p.m., Friday, 4-10 p.m., Saturday, 11 a.m.-10 p.m., Sunday 11 a.m.-7 p.m.
