Hurricane Sandy-Battered Pier C Park Partially Reopens
Pier C Park, which was ravaged during Hurricane Sandy last October, partially reopened over the weekend.
Hoboken's Pier C Park, which had been closed for repairs since Hurricane Sandy tossed benches, cracked concrete and exposed and damaged irrigation lines last October, reopened to the public Saturday.
The park's playground areas, parts of its lawn, restrooms and most of its western side are now open to the public with expanded summer hours from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m daily, city spokesman Juan Melli said.
Pier C Park's eastern, Hudson River-facing side, remains fenced off as repairs there continue.
