Test Drive the Smart Electric Drive This Weekend

Hobokenites will have the opportunity to take the all-new Smart electric drive microcar for a spin this weekend when the national "smart funtestdrive tour" stops in the Mile Square City.

Test drives of the new smart car, which boasts a combined 107 MPGe (the equivalent of miles per gallon used for electric vehicles), are being offered from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 23 Hudson Place.

The battery electric version of the Smart Fortwo, which Smart bills as "America's most affordable electric car," has a manufacturer's suggested retail price of $25,000 for the coupe and $28,000 for the cabriolet, before deducting a potential $7,500 federal tax credit.

If you miss out on taking a test drive this weekend but still want to get behind the wheel of the electric drive, the national tour stops at 126 N. 6th Street Brookyln next weekend, June 29 and 30, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
