An hour of rain, with potential thundershowers, is expected in Hoboken early Tuesday evening, Accuweather radar shows.

HOBOKEN, NJ — Amid a dangerous combination of heat and humidity in the Hoboken area, rain was expected in the area from around 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, according to forecasters.

Meanwhile, a Hazardous Weather Outlook and heat advisory have been issued for the area because of the dangerous heat. The advisory runs into Wednesday at 8 p.m., but has been extended several times.

The National Weather Service says, "Seniors and those with chronic health problems or mental health conditions are at an increased risk. Homes without air conditioning can be much hotter than outdoor temperatures. ... If you don`t have home air conditioning, continue to seek out cool spaces each day as long as it remains hot, and for a few days after if your home is still hot. Check on vulnerable friends, family members and neighbors."
