Hoboken Bagel Store Robbed

Hoboken police arrested 26-year-old Hobokenite Noam Levi on Thursday morning around 2:30 a.m., after he allegedly robbed on Eighth and Washington Streets, according to police reports. 

According to the police report, the shop’s cashier was smoking a cigarette in the back of the store when the robbery occurred. A customer who entered the establishment, according to police, saw Levi climb over the counter and run out of the store with a bag of cigarettes. When the employee came back and opened the cash register, she found it empty, according to police reports.

Another employee of Hudson Bagels followed Levi outside onto Garden Street, but lost sight of him, according to police reports.

Police found the 26-year-old Hoboken resident in the basement of 216 Seventh St., hiding behind a pile of garbage bags, according to reports. Police found four packs of Malborough cigarettes and “a wad of cash” which amounted to $234, according to reports.

Once Levi was taken to police Head Quarters, officers found an altoid box with a green vegitation, believed to be marijuana in the pocket of his jeans, according to reports.

The money was returned to the store, police said.

Levi was charged with theft of moveable property, resisting arrest and possession of CDS/Marijuana under 50 grams, according to the report.
