Weehawken Pool Closed On Monday; When Will It Reopen?
The Weehawken pool, which has some Hoboken members, is closed Monday, June 24, the town said. When will it reopen and what about day passes?

HUDSON COUNTY, NJ — The Weehawken Township Pool, which has some out-of-town members (including many from nearby Hoboken), will be closed on Monday, June 24, the town announced Saturday.
The pool will reopen on Tuesday. June 25.
The town did not specify the reason for the closure, but commenters online said it had to do with the Weehawken High School graduation at the nearby field.

In a cryptic note, the message from the town about reopening Tuesday said, "Members only," even though they originally said they'd offer 30 paid day passes per day to non-members starting Tuesday.

Hoboken, Day Passes, And More
Paid memberships at the pool — which is a 1.5-mile walk along the waterfront from Hoboken — are available to all New Jersey residents, because the complex was partly built with state Green Acres funds. (Weehawken residents get a lower rate for season passes than residents of other towns.)
But the town announced last week that they were halting season pass memberships. "We have reached the maximum capacity limit two months ahead of previous years," they said. "We are taking this action in order to avoid long waits for pool access."
In past years, Weehawken defied state law that said they had to let out-of-towners use the pool and offer day passes. A spokesperson for the state DEP said last month, in response to a question from Patch, "Last year, the DEP notified Weehawken that that they were in jeopardy of losing future project funding unless the township fully complied with Green Acres regulations. The township was not eligible for this past funding round due to compliance and too many open projects."
More Information
The township did announce in May that for this season, they will offer day passes (capped at 30 per day), but now, it's unclear if the sales will start Tuesday.
If passes are available, they will only be for sale on-line and not at the complex. Find out more here or using the links below.
Some commenters have suggested that Hoboken residents who are frustrated with the parameters of the Weehawken pool should talk to their own town officials, who have promised pool construction for decades, as well as programming.
So far, Hoboken has not announced any summer swim activities or programming for residents, although the town has noted that residents can still use the pool at the Stevens Institute of Technology. READ MORE: Hoboken Pool Updates, Lessons, Weehawken, And More
Jersey City, Secaucus, North Bergen, Union City, and West New York all have pool complexes for their residents. Hoboken residents can use the pools in Union City (see photos here) and Jersey City.
