Woman Found Dead In Uptown Hoboken: Police
Police released a statement about a woman found dead in Hoboken on Wednesday evening.
HOBOKEN, NJ — Police found a woman dead in uptown Hoboken on Wednesday evening, they said. Officials said they believe the death is not suspicious.
"Yesterday, there was a terrible tragedy in our community," said Councilwoman Tiffanie Fisher in her newsletter on Thursday morning. "A woman fell to her death from the 1450 Bloomfield Parking garage into the fenced off work area for the Rebuild-By-Design project. Emergency responders were there quickly, but sadly she did not survive her injuries."
The police released this statement on Thursday: “At approximately 5 p.m. yesterday, Hoboken Police and Hoboken EMS/Volunteer Ambulance Corps responded to the area of 15th and Bloomfield Streets on reports of an individual who jumped from the roof of a nearby parking garage. Unfortunately, the individual succumbed to their injuries.”

They added, "An investigation is underway. Anyone with information is asked to call Hoboken Police Department at 201-420-2100."
Fisher said, "I have been asked if neighbors should have any concern about their own safety, and I have been told that while it is still under investigation, there were witnesses, and it is believed to be self-inflicted."
