A Coastal Flood Advisory means that minor tidal flooding is expected. Minor tidal flooding often results in some road closures. Usually, the most vulnerable roadways will flood.
Do not leave your vehicle at a location that is prone to tidal flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flood waters. The water may be deeper than you think it is. You will be putting yourself in danger and your vehicle may be damaged, leading to costly repairs.

A flooding advisory is also in effect until noon Tuesday in Hudson, Eastern Essex and Eastern Union counties.
“Minor flooding is expected in the more vulnerable locations near the waterfront and shoreline. Some roads and low-lying properties including parking lots, parks, lawns, and homes and businesses with basements near the waterfront will experience minor flooding,” forecasters said.

The flood advisory comes on the heels of the state’s first major winter storm of 2022, which brought strong wind gusts, power outages, flooding, road closures and over one foot of snow to some parts of New Jersey. Read more: NJ Weather: Winter Storm Warning In 8 NJ Counties, 40-MPH Winds
