Downed Rt. 36 Pole Closes Lanes In Keyport Wednesday Morning: DOT

KEYPORT, NJ -A downed pole on Route 36 in Keyport has prompted delays Wednesday morning, authorities said.

As of 6:22 a.m., there’s a downed pole on Route 36 in both directions on CR 4/Broad Street in Keyport, according to the New Jersey Department of Transportation.

All lanes are currently closed, the agency said.

As of 6:30 a.m., there aren’t any power outages associated with the incident, according to JCP&L’s outage map.

Route 36 is also closed northbound at Middle Road towards the Garden State Parkway, Hazlet Township said in a Nixle alert around 7 a.m. on Wednesday. It was not immediately clear if the two closures are related.
