Name the top issues currently facing your town and how you plan to address them:

Based on a survey that my team opened to residents, we found that the top three issues residents felt concerned about were:

  • the annual property tax assessment driving up tax bills
  • garbage/bulk pick up and brush/leaf pickup.
  • frustration over the recreation program as a whole, including summer camp, pool operations, and lack of programs/activities for all groups.

We need to evaluate and be more prudent with spending to help offset the outrageous increases in property taxes we are all suffering through because of the Assessment Demonstration Program (ADP), which several other towns have opted out of. We also need to look at why we are spending on projects that residents have little to no interest in and shift that spending to services that residents are specifically wanting/needing.

Identify one or more specific goals or ideas you have to enhance life in your town:

My ultimate goal is to give our residents a voice in decisions that directly impact their quality of life in Hazlet.

I want the administration to be more transparent with their actions and decisions that directly impact our residents.

We need to be more open to resident requests/concerns, and put the residents first when making decisions about spending, town amenities, services, etc.

What in your experience or background prepares you for election to office:

I have been a resident of Hazlet for the past 11 years. I am a single mother raising three young daughters who are part of the Hazlet school system. We are also heavily involved in local community sports such as the Hazlet Pop Warner Cheer Organization, where I serve as the Treasurer.

I graduated from Boston University earning my B.A. in Psychology and M.S. in Administrative Studies with a concentration in Financial Economics. My professional experience began as a financial advisor for the Student Accounting Department at Boston University, and I later transferred to the Student Loan Department.

I quickly realized my passion was to work with college students pursuing their educational goals. After a relocation, this passion led me to join the National Society of Leadership and Success, where I have been mentoring, teaching and supporting the future leaders of tomorrow for over 14 years.
