Brown is facing three incumbents on the school board, and she said she would preserve its "conservative approach." She is particularly concerned about bullying. Why do you want to run for the school board and what in your experience or background prepares you for election:

I decided to run when I heard about the new health and sex education curricula the State of New Jersey had passed. There is a very progressive agenda being pushed on our children and I am not ok with it. So, if you want change, you need to take responsibility and act.

As for my experience on a board, I do not have any. I am a concerned parent who wants what’s best for the children in our great town. However, I lead a team of 20 sales representatives and love what I do. I enjoy leading, coaching and developing people. And I’m never afraid to stand up for what I think is right for the team. It would be my honor to stand up for what’s right for our children.

Name what you see as the top issues currently facing your district and how you plan to address them. These can be local issues and/or statewide issues:

As I talk to parents in town, they tell me stories about their children being bullied and how they are worried about their mental health. These parents are desperate for help. I have seen first hand where bullying continues to happen in the district and we need to have a strict policy on what is and is not acceptable and adhere to it.

It breaks my heart to hear these stories. The last thing we need is another tragedy where a young, beautiful life is taken away too soon. All our children should feel safe going to school every day.

As for the health and sexual education curriculum, I think Hazlet did a great job with how they are implementing it. The state requires we teach it, but each district can implement it as they see fit.

What changes or improvements do you see for the district that could enhance educational life and is there a way you might accomplish that?:

If elected, I would continue to preserve the conservative approach our district has towards our children's education. I would encourage parents to come to the meetings and talk about the things that are effecting their families so we could work on them together to make effective change that is positive and rewarding for all.
