February Programs For Kids & Teens At The Hazlet Township Public Library

Whether you're looking for arts and crafts, storytime, or something in between, there's plenty of events planned for this month:

HAZLET, NJ — For those looking for local educational programs and activities for their kids and teens, the Hazlet Township Public Library has plenty of events lined up for February.

Whether you’re looking for arts and crafts, hands-on experiments, reading with pets, or something in between, there are plenty of fun programs for kids and teens to participate in.

Here’s what’s planned for the Hazlet Township Public Library in February, according to the Friends of the Hazlet Library:

Baby Storytime
Join the library for stories, rhymes, fingerplays and songs every Tuesday from 10-10:20 a.m. Baby Storytime is for babies 6-24 months with their parent or caregiver.

Toddler Storytime
Join the library for stories, rhymes, fingerplays and songs every Tuesday from 11-11:30 a.m. Toddler Storytime is for kids ages 2-4 with their parent or caregiver.

Family Storytime
Join the library for stories, rhymes, fingerplays and songs every Thursday from 11-11:30 a.m. Family Storytime is for kids ages 2-6 with their parent or caregiver.

Crafternoons
Join the library for some crafts every Tuesday from 4-4:30 p.m. (There will be no crafternoons on Feb. 11). Crafternoons are for kids ages 5-12 with their parent or caregiver.

Bright Minds S.T.E.A.M. Club
Join the library for hands-on experiments and projects on Thursdays from 4-4:30 p.m. Registration is required, and participants (kids 5-12 years old) are encouraged to dress to get messy.

On Feb. 13, the club will learn how to make their own radio play for World Radio Day, and on Feb. 27, the club will learn to make light-up Pokémon with paper circuits.

Read To A Therapy Dog
On Tuesday, Feb. 11, kids 5-12 years old can read to a therapy dog from 4-5 p.m.

Take N’ Make Crafts
Stop by the library to pick up a make-at-home craft. Directions for the craft can be found on the Monmouth County Library’s Kids page.

The craft for Feb. 1-14 will be a penguin, and the craft from Feb. 15-28 will be a dog.

The Radio Show
All ages are welcome for a live old-fashioned radio play on Saturday, Feb. 22 from 3-4:30 p.m. Registration is required.

Pokémon Scavenger Hunt
Come to the library from Feb. 18-28 to “catch them all” in the library's children’s room. The event is open to readers of all ages.
