HAZLET, NJ - A longtime Hazlet police dispatcher and first aid squad member died suddenly last week, township officials said.
Harry Hunter Jr., a former captain and executive trustee of the Hazlet First Aid & Rescue Squad, died Friday, according to an obituary. He served over 30 years on the paramedics team, the squad said.
“Today we join the town's first responders in mourning the loss of Harry Hunter who served many years as a Hazlet Police Dispatcher as well as serving on the Hazlet First Aid Squad,” the township police department said in a Facebook post. “Harry was a friend to all who knew him and he selflessly volunteered for many years helping the citizens of our community. Our thoughts are with his family that he leaves behind and hope that they take solace in the fact that he has helped many people during his lifetime.”
