Holmdel Announces 9/11 Memorial Ceremony Plans

The 20th anniversary of the attacks on the twin towers will be marked with a ceremony. See here how to attend.

HOLMDEL, NJ — For the 20th anniversary of 9/11, Holmdel Township is holding a commemoration ceremony at Town Hall Memorial Circle at 7 p.m. on Sept. 10.

The address is at 4 Crawfords Corner Road.

About a dozen people are being remembered in the ceremony: Christopher Allingham, Paul Barbaro, Evan Jay Baron, Michael Laforte, Chin Min "Dennis" Foo, Robert Horohoe, Jr., Matthew Picerno, Gregory Preziose, Gregg Reidy and Eric Stahlman.

Later in the day, the Monmouth County shoreline will light up with cellphones from residents and elected officials.

The plan is to get everyone to turn on their lights at 8:46 p.m, honoring "the heroes" of Sept.11, 2001.

The Board of County Commissioners is also inviting families of Monmouth County 9/11 victims to attend a Memorial Ceremony at 8 a.m. at Mount Mitchill Scenic Overlook, at 460 Ocean Boulevard, Atlantic Highlands.
