Holmdel Daytime Home Burglary Reported Monday, Police Seek Tips

The burglary is the latest incident amid a string of attempted burglary reports in Holmdel since last week. Here's what to know:

HOLMDEL, NJ - The latest incident amid a string of attempted home burglaries in Holmdel Township was reported Monday, authorities said.

The incident took place sometime on Lexington Court between 8 a.m. and 8:45 p.m. on Monday, Holmdel police said in a statement. It was not immediately clear what, if any, valuables or cash were removed from the home.

The burglary was reported a day after a Kimball Turn resident reported individuals in ski masks, dark clothing and gloves attempting to break into his garage early Sunday morning. Holmdel police are also seeking information regarding an attempted break-in at a Windswept Road residence last Wednesday. Two Holmdel police officers found two men “actively breaking into the rear of the home” on Wednesday, police previously said. Both fled on foot, though only one was arrested nearby, police said. The second man was last seen running through yards on Sage Street near Crocus Drive. Area residents who may have footage of the suspect or any suspicious vehicles are urged to contact Detective John Maguire at jmaguire@holmdelpolice.org.

Last Tuesday, Holmdel police also reported that the Kay Jewelers location near Holmdel Plaza was robbed at gunpoint. The subject is described as a thin white male in his early 70s with a possible Russian accent and wearing jeans, dark jacket, wool hat, a face mask and sneakers, police said.
