Holmdel Kay Jewelers Robbery Suspect Still At Large: Police

The suspect, whom police said stole about $20,000 in jewelry, was described as a thin male in his early 70s and spoke with an accent.

HOLMDEL, NJ - Holmdel police are seeking the public’s help in identifying a man who allegedly robbed a Kay Jewelers location on Tuesday, authorities said.

The incident, which took place at around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, saw an unidentified man enter the Route 35 store, show a handgun in his waistband and demand the store employees hand over all “men’s gold,” Holmdel police said.

Holmdel police said late on Wednesday the value of the various gold jewelry was more than $20,000. Police confirmed the suspect was still at large as of Wednesday night.

The employees complied and the person left the store, walking toward the rear of the building in the direction of Kohl's Plaza, police said.

No injuries were reported in connection with the incident.

The subject is described as a thin white male in his early 70s with a possible Russian accent and wearing jeans, dark jacket, wool hat, a face mask and sneakers, police said.
