Holmdel School District Launches Strategic Plan For Next Five Years
District's "roadmap for the future" focuses on four areas to develop through 2028 as part of the Holmdel educational experience.

HOLMDEL, NJ — The Holmdel school district is now putting into action its five-year strategic plan for 2023 to 2028, the district superintendent announced.
"The launch of our five-year strategic plan represents an exciting new chapter in the journey of the Holmdel Public School District," said Superintendent Dr. J. Scott Cascone.
Cascone had recommended developing a strategic plan, and the Board of Education agreed with the idea, he said. Holmdel has not had a strategic plan in place for a number of years, he added.

The district website has the report of the full plan here. It was developed over an eight-month period.
"This plan is a testament to our unwavering commitment to providing our students with a world-class education. It reflects the dedication of our entire school community—students, parents, staff, and board members—who have come together to create a roadmap for our future. This process and plan hold the promise of propelling us from where we are today to where we aspire to be in 2028," Cascone said.

The report notes the board members, educators and parents and guardians who were involved in the plan's development.
"This inclusive approach ensured that the plan reflects the diverse perspectives and values of the Holmdel community," the district said.
Among the board members who worked on the plan were Dr. Surekha Collur, Chris DiMare, Jeff Mann, President Peter Reddy and Kim Tuccillo. Page 24 of the plan names all the community members and educators involved.
The development of the strategic plan incorporated feedback and insights gathered from local and state data, surveys, focus groups, and task force work groups.
"These multifaceted inputs have culminated in a strategic plan that not only represents the aspirations of our district but also embodies the collective commitment to our students' success," the district said.
The strategic plan for 2023-2028 is built on four focal points, each designed to enhance the overall educational experience in Holmdel:
- Organizational Systems: Strengthening the infrastructure and operations to support educational excellence.
- Teaching and Learning: Promoting innovative and effective teaching practices that meet the evolving needs of our students.
- Culture and Climate: Fostering a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment that encourages growth and well-being.
- Parent/Community Engagement and Partnerships: Enhancing collaboration with parents, guardians, and the broader community to create a holistic support system for our students.
The plan goes into detail about each area and sets goals for when certain milestones will be met in those areas.
"Together, we look forward to achieving new heights in education and nurturing the potential of every student in our district," the district said.
And the plan leaves room for flexibility:
The strategic plan is a "dynamic document that will be regularly monitored and assessed for progress. The district is prepared to make adjustments and pivots along the way to ensure that the goals set forth are met with precision and excellence," the district said.
