Injured Woman Saved By Alert Hazlet Public Works Employees
Michael Armellino and Joseph Koisa were going to fuel up their truck when officials said they heard a car alarm and saw an injured woman.

HAZLET, NJ — Two Hazlet Department of Public Works (DPW) employees gave a helping hand on Tuesday when they came across a woman in distress and helped save her life, township officials said.
DPW workers Michael Armellino and Joseph Koisa were going to fuel up their truck when officials said they heard a car alarm going off nearby.
As the two passed a home on Marsand Drive, they saw an injured woman lying on the ground.

Armellino and Koisa immediately turned around to help the woman, when officials said they realized the injuries were serious and called 911.
While waiting for police and first aid to arrive, the two applied pressure to a head wound and kept up a conversation with the woman to try and keep her conscious.

Once emergency services arrived and took over, they praised Armellino and Koisa for their quick thinking and the attention they gave to the injured woman.
"As the Superintendent of Public Works and a representative of Hazlet Township, I would like to take this opportunity to thank Mike and Joe for going above and beyond what is asked of them in their daily job duties," Kenneth Kruk said. "On behalf of Hazlet Township, we wish the woman a full and speedy recovery."
