‘It’s A Girl!’ Holmdel Police Officers Deliver Baby

The police department recently welcomed the county's newest resident when they assisted a woman in labor over the weekend.

HOLMDEL, NJ — Holmdel Police helped welcome the county's newest resident when they assisted a woman in labor over the weekend.

On Sunday at 6:10 a.m., Holmdel Police responded to a local home for a report of a woman in labor.

Once Ptl. Brendon Bernard and Ptl. Rich Enzerillo arrived at the home, they realized the birth of the baby was imminent.

With no medical personnel around and only their training and instincts to rely on, police said Bernard and Enzerillo sprung into action.

Together, they delivered a baby girl who made her way into the world at 6:16 a.m.

Following her birth, both mother and child were brought to a local hospital by Holmdel First Aid, police said. Both are doing well.

“This story is a beautiful reminder of the extraordinary lengths to which police officers will go to help their communities,” Holmdel Police said. “In moments of crisis, they not only enforce the law but also step up in ways that are truly life-changing."

"The safe delivery of the baby is a testament to their professionalism, courage, and deep compassion for those they serve," police continued. "Great work Ptl. Bernard and Ptl. Enzerillo!”
