Monmouth Co. Man Arrested Friday After 6 Hour Police Standoff
Anthony Hoff, 28, threw a knife and threatened officers with the use of a gun, according to the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office.
MONMOUTH COUNTY, NJ — A Monmouth County man was arrested on Friday after a six-hour-long standoff with police, according to the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office.
Anthony Hoff, 28, became hostile and threatened officers with the use of a gun after police responded his house, near Seeley and Carr Avenues, because of a call from a concerned family member, according to the Prosecutor's Office.
Hoff also threw a knife in direction of the police, the Prosecutor's Office said.

After hours of negotiation, at around 9:40 p.m., Hoff was taken into custody without incident and transported to a local hospital for evaluation.
Members of the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office, Monmouth County Sheriff’s Office, Keansburg Police Department and other surrounding law enforcement agencies responded to the incident.

"I thank the responding officers for their efforts in doing all that was possible to de-escalate this situation. Because of their professional and measured actions, this incident ended without injury," Acting Monmouth County Prosecutor Lori Linskey said.
Hoff was charged with third-degree terroristic threats, third-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, fourth-degree unlawful possession of a weapon, fourth-degree aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, third-degree burglary and disorderly persons criminal mischief.
