Motorcycle Run On Sunday Raising Funds For 9/11 Memorial
The Knights of the Inferno Motorcycle Club will unveil the monument featuring a piece of steel from the twin towers on Sept. 11.

HOLMDEL, NJ — A piece of steel from the World Trade Center will soon stand as a 9/11 memorial on Fireman's Park, in Union Beach. To raise funds for the completion of the project, the Knights of the Inferno Motorcycle Club is hosting a run on Sunday.
The ride will start at 11:45 a.m from the Knights of Columbus and will stop at 9/11 memorials along a designated route in Monmouth County. At each stop, an honor guard detail will place a wreath in honor of those who lost their lives during the attack on the World Trade Center.
The event will be dedicated to the memory of FDNY Firefighter Daniel Foley. His brother, Thomas Foley, was killed on September 11, 2001, and last year Daniel passed away from a 9/11 related cancer. Members of Foley's family will be in attendance on Sunday.

The 9/11 memorial, which features an I-beam from the twin towers, will be donated to the Union Beach Emergency Service. The monument was built by Uras Monuments in Middletown. Out of the total cost of 15,000, the Knights of the Inferno Motorcycle Club, still needs to raise a third of the money with the event on Sunday.
The memorial will be unveiled at 9 a.m. on September 11th at Firefighters Park, from which the New City skyline where the Twin Towers used to stand is visible.
Meanwhile, another smaller piece of steel from the twin towers will also be displayed on Sunday.
