Road Restoration Work To Continue This Week In Hazlet
Beginning Aug. 21, residents can expect milling and paving work on certain streets off Hazlet Avenue, part of a continuing repair program
HAZLET, NJ — Milling and paving work will begin on Monday, Aug. 21, off Hazlet Avenue for David Street, East Susan Street, East Richard Street and East Jack Street, the township advises.
Once completed, Alice Place, Willowbrook Drive and Mason Drive will be milled and paved.
Drivers should follow the parking instructions that will be distributed by the contractor prior to the start of the project, the township says.

The work is part of the ongoing Road Improvement Program to identify municipal roads for restoration, according to the township.
All existing municipal roads in Hazlet have been evaluated and their conditions rated under nationally recognized standards. This evaluation work is done by T&M Engineers and is used to prioritize road work.

Road repairs, road evaluations and future road projects are an ongoing municipal activity where there is no true beginning or actual end date, the township notes.
The "neighborhood by neighborhood" approach includes continued detailed analysis and restoration work performed in various phases, subject to seasonal variations and secured funding, as well as grant requirements and successful project awards to the lowest responsible bidder.
