Tree Falls Onto House In Holmdel, Rendering It ‘Unsafe': Police
The incident occurred Monday amidst high winds throughout New Jersey.

HOLMDEL, NJ — A local home was deemed unsafe after a large tree crashed through its roof amid high winds over the weekend, Holmdel Police said.
The incident occurred on Monday as strong winds made their way throughout New Jersey. In Monmouth County, wind gusts got up to around 63 MPH, with downed trees and power lines reported throughout the county.
In Holmdel, police said three people were inside the house at the time of the crash, though they were not injured. The house was deemed unsafe following the incident.

“Holmdel Township has experienced numerous trees and wires down during this wind event,” police said. "Residents are reminded to please report any downed trees and power lines and do not approach or touch ANY wires on the ground."
On Sunday, a home in Glen Rock was also declared temporarily unsafe after a tree fell through its roof.

There were no injuries in the crash and all occupants were able to safely exit the home, police said. In addition to the house, authorities said a vehicle parked in the driveway was also damaged.
