Police are advising visitors about how to safely navigate two residential holiday light displays in Hazlet.

HAZLET, NJ — Two residential light displays in the town may be remarkable, but the Hazlet Police Department wants visitors to enjoy them safely.
"How lucky is Hazlet to have awesome residents who take holiday decorating to the next level?" police said in a Facebook post to residents.

- Meredith Way: The road is closed to all non-residential traffic and there is no street parking for non-residents. It is a cul-de-sac and there is no outlet. Do not take your vehicle down this road unless you live there. There will be a make-shift walk way on the left side of the street for pedestrian traffic. Try to stay within the cones. A light tower has been set up to enable visibility for crossing Middle Road. There is no crosswalk at this location, so please cross at the corner within the light tower's reach so you are visible to vehicles.
- Bauer Avenue: This is a short dead end road. Do not turn onto Bauer Avenue unless you live there. There is a light tower set up at the crosswalk near this location. Please cross within the light tower's reach and at the crosswalk.
Police reiterate that these are not township-sanctioned events.
"The police department does everything we can to ensure the safety of those visiting, but there is no designated parking," police said.

When parking, visitors are reminded not to block anyone's driveway or park too close to the stop signs, fire hydrants, and crosswalks.
"These are residents who want to spread holiday cheer, please keep the holidays fun and clean by not littering while visiting," police said.
