Troopers Stop Knife-Wielding Man From Stabbing Attack: Police
Police received 9-1-1 call on May 13 from woman screaming in Sussex County home, police report.

A Sussex County man was arrested and jailed after police say he assaulted a woman and held a knife to her throat.
On Friday, May 13, police received a call where they could hear a woman screaming, but no one spoke with an operator, New Jersey State Police said. When police arrived at the Wantage Township home, they could hear screaming and pleading through a locked door, police said.
Troopers then knocked down the locked door and spotted Christopher Davidson, 41, of Newton, on top of the female victim with a large knife to her throat, police said. The woman was bleeding from the face and forearm.

The troopers then rushed Davidson while ordering him to drop the knife, but “he continued to slash the woman,” police said. Troopers knocked Davidson to the ground and seized the knife.
Davidson was charged with aggravated assault, multiple weapons offenses, resisting arrest, and criminal mischief for the damage done in the residence before the attack.
