Man Posing As Doc to Call in Fake Script Given Jail Sentence, Probation: Prosecutor

In May, Matthew Fedroff, 36, tried to illegally obtain a Xanax prescription from the Franklin ShopRite, authorities said.

SUSSEX COUNTY, N.J.– A 36-year-old man who pretended to be a doctor to call in a Xanax prescription was recently sentenced to 364 days in jail and four years probation, authorities said.

On May 24, Matthew Fedroff called in the fake script to the ShopRite in Franklin, Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch said.

On Oct. 11, Fedroff of Hamburg plead guilty to unauthorized practice of medicine and attempt to obtain a controlled dangerous substance, Koch said.

Fedroff was given a 94-day jail credit, according to the prosecutor.
