Sparta School Board Reorganizes, Hopatcong Women's Club Meets

- The Hopatcong Women's Club gathers for its first monthly meeting of 2014. The group meets at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the lower level of the Senior Center, 32 Lakeside Blvd.
- It's meeting time for the Hopatcong Middle School Parent-Teacher Organization. The group gathers in the school cafeteria at 7 p.m. On the agenda is last-minute arrangements for Friday's middle school Snowball Dance. HMS is at 1 David Road.
- The Sparta Township Board of Education meets for its first session of 2014. The gathering will feature the school board's annual reorganization, which includes administrative tasks; the installation of newly elected members Brenda Beebe, Kelly McEvoy and James Todd Muth; and the selection of a president and vice president. The meeting is at 7:30 p.m. at the Mohawk Avenue School auditorium, 18 Mohawk Ave.
- Keeping It Clean: In Hopatcong, sanitation crews will head to Garbage Pickup Section B. No recycling pickup is on the schedule, but the Recycling Center will be open from 9 a.m. to noon. In Sparta, check with the online schedule.
