Farmingdale Recreation Hosting Spooky, Fun Halloween Activities for All!

Here are a list of activities for Halloween from October 27 to October 31 in Farmingdale- spooky fun for the whole family!

Haunted Trails

Come for a spooky walk at the Farmingdale Recreation Commission’s Hauntred Trail, located directly behind the Farmingdale Community Center.

The Haunted Trail will take place on Monday, October 27 to Thursday, October 30 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 pm., and Halloween night on Friday, October 31 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

The Hauntred Trail is just $2.00 per person, so it’s a perfect and affordable activity to do for the entire family, or for large groups!

There is also a less scary trail for little ones, so bring your tiny goblins, superheros, and princesses!

Carved Pumpkin Contest

Are you an expert Jack-o-Lantern carver? Enter the Farmingdale Carved Pumpkin Contest!

All entries must be turned in at the Farmingdale Community Center between 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. on Monday, October 27.

Judging will be held at the Community Center on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday night of the same week, at 7:30 p.m., with the winner being announced at the Spooktober party on

Be sure to come by the Center and vote for your favorite!

Scavenger Hunt

Look in your Friday Folder (October 24) for the Recreation Commission’s list of treasures to find on Halloween night (or check our Facebook page by clicking here). Visit Farmingdale vendors while you are trick-or-treating and taking part in the scavenger hunt.

Turn in your findings at the Spooktober party and receive a prize!

Spooktober Party

Come over and enjoy visiting your neighbors at the Farmingdale Spooktober Party, on Halloween night, Friday, October 31, from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

There will be plenty of activities for everyone:

  • Turn in your scavenger hunt items, and collect your prize.
  • Bring your bag of Halloween loot to trade what you don’t want in the giant candy exchange.
  • Go through the Hauntred Trail- if you dare!
  • There will be a costume contest- check our Facebook page for ages and contest times.
  • There will also be crafts, healthy snacks, and more!

Please bring a non-perishable food item for the Joshua House Food Pantry on Main Street in Farmingdale.

Volunteers are needed. You must be 13 years and older to volunteer at the Haunted Trail.
