HOWELL, NJ — Howell families can rest easily this Christmas Eve and know their toys and gifts and roast beast are safe: police locked up the Grinch this week, the police department said.

The sneaky curmugeon won't be able to slink into homes or pull any other shenanigans thanks to a special detail organized by Howell Police Sgt. Chris Nagy, the department said.

Nagy and Officers Daryl Hasting, Alex Peltzman, Ryan Norton, Frank Galano and Anthony Enzerillo located the Grinch on the evening of Dec. 19 and took him into custody. Word is New Jersey Bail Reform rules haven't let him out.
