Festivals Highlight Multicultural Traditions of Howell
Coptic and Russian festivals scheduled for this weekend

In a town as big as Howell there are a wide variety of cultures and religions throughout the township and this weekend two of the largest will sharing their traditions with the larger community.
On Saturday Archangel Michael Coptic Orthodox Church will be begin the 14th Annual Coptic Festival that will run this weekend and next weekend. The event includes Egyptian food, gifts and jewelry as well as brass and silver artwork. Tours will also be made available of the newly finished church which is located at 7 Church Road. On Sunday the 9th Annual Russian and Slavic Cultural Festival will be held at the local Russian Orthodox Church located at 200 Alexander Avenue. The day includes a wide variety of traditional foods and drinks that can be enjoyed while listening to Slavic music and taking part in dances with performers taking the stage throughout the day.
