Howell Board Of Education Seats Three Elected Members For 2023

In Howell, Albert Miller was reappointed board president; Cristy Mangano was appointed vice president at the annual reorganization meeting.

HOWELL, NJ — Newly elected members and officers of the Howell Board of Education took their seats at Wednesday's reorganization meeting.

Board member Cristy Mangano was re-elected to the board. Joseph Mauer and Alexandria Langenberger were newly elected.

They were all sworn into office by Ronald Sanasac, assistant superintendent/business administrator/board secretary.

Albert Miller was chosen again as board president. Mangano was chosen as vice president, Sanasac said.

Other members of the Board of Education for 2023 are: Dr. Stephen Levine; Dr. Denise Lowe; MaryRose Malley; Jennifer Okerson; and Ira Thor.

Former long-serving board members Mark Bonjavanni and Larry Gurman concluded their terms on the board in December to much praise at a meeting of the Board of Education in Dec. 7.

Bonjavanni served 13 years, Gurman 15 years. Gurman also ran unsuccessfully for the board in 2022. You can see tributes to both men by fellow board members and by Superintendent Joe Isola here.
