Learn Backyard Composting At Workshop In Howell

The workshop will give practical tips and information on how to reduce waste and improve your soil.

HOWELL, NJ — For people looking for ways to reduce how much trash they are sending to the landfill, composting is growing in popularity.

Not sure how to begin? There is a workshop on Sunday that will teach you how to compost in your backyard.

The workshop, set for 11 a.m. at Echo Lake Pavilion, will show you how to take kitchen food scraps, paper and yard clippings and turn them into soil you can use when planting in your garden to feed your plants.

Registration is required for the workshop (register here online), which is presented by the Monmouth County Master Composters. Space is limited.

There will be Earth Machine ocmposters available at the discounted price of $35. Make check payable to Monmouth County Grant Fund.
