Howell Day And Green Fair: See Live Entertainment Schedule, Details

HOWELL, NJ — Howell Township residents are invited to an afternoon of fun, food and live entertainment on Saturday as the township celebrates Howell Day and holds the annual Green Fair.

The event is set for 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, at Soldier Memorial Park. The rain date is Saturday, Sept. 28.

Residents are encouraged to take shuttle buses from Howell Middle School North or Howell Middle School South because of limited parking at Soldier Memorial Park.

There will be children’s activities, inflatables and mechanical rides, vendors, food vendors, demonstrations, cornhole games, a touch-a-truck area, EV test drives and a petting zoo.

There will be fireworks at dusk.

There will be an array of food trucks, including John & Debbie O's Concessions, Passarelli's Italian Hot Dogs and Sausage, Simply SoFrito, Big Man's Food Truck, Relish The Dog, Brooklyn's Famous Pizza, The Ivy League, Christie's Italian Seafood, Meg's Coffee Bar, Davey B's Shaved Ice & Ice Cream, Kona Ice of Howell, Mister Softee, Nothing Bundt Cakes, The Sourdough Streets and Cozy Cookies Kitchen.

Howell Township PBA Local 228 will operate a beer and wine area.

The Howell Alliance will have a tent at the event that will include giveaways, substance use prevention and mental health awareness information. There also will be fun activities for all ages including "Shoot for the Moon" where you can make and launch your own rocket.

The live entertainment includes the Howell High School Marching Band, and local performers including the Black Ties, the Phil Engel Band and The MVP Band, officials said.

The Black Ties are "Howell’s very own rock and roll band playing a wide array of music, spanning from yesterday’s favorites to the hits of tomorrow. Classics, covers, originals — the Black Ties do it all," organizers said.

The Phil Engel Band is "the ultimate dance/rock entertainment package. They provide timeless music by rocking out for a memorable event," the organizers said.

The MVP Band by Joe Cantaffa is from the Howell High School Fine and Performing Arts Center, and "will be sure to entertain the residents with pop music to the classics."

The Howell High School Marching Rebels, led by Anthony Limaldi, will start things off with the national anthem.

Also performing will be the Art Beins Karate Demo Team by Nick Shymanski.

The performance schedule is as follows:

  • 3 p.m.: Howell High School Marching Rebels
  • 3:15 p.m.-4:15 p.m: The MVP Band
  • 4:30 p.m.- 6 p.m.: Phil Engel Band
  • 6 p.m.-6:15 p.m.: Art Beins Karate Demo Team
  • 6:30 p.m.-8:15 p.m.: Black Ties

The rain date is Saturday, Sept. 28.
