Rebel Air Attack Tames Mustangs

Middletown South up next for Howell.

The Howell Rebels picked up another big win to start their season on Saturday as they built up a big lead to take down their hosts from Marlboro on a crystal clear day.

Under the direction of quarterback Connor McGlynn Howell built up a 28-0 lead heading into the fourth quarter and eventually held on for a 28-14 win. McGlynn completed 19 of his 27 passes for a total of 285 yards including four touchdowns. His favorite target for the day was Jarvis Leaks who pulled in nine passes for an impressive 157 yard day that also included a touchdown. Joey Schultz had six receptions against Marlboro for 74 yards on the road. Dontrell Jones caught two touchdown passes to give the Rebels another decisive victory.

The Rebel defense was anchored by Schultz as well as he had a total of nine tackles on the day. Tyler Smalls and John Demarco had seven and eight tackles respectively for their team and Nate Litowsky picked up the team’s lone sack

In two wins this year the Rebels have outscored their opponents 67-32 while McGlynn has dominated through the air completing 44 of 61 passes  for 652 yards and nine touchdowns. Leaks and Schultz are already over the 200 yard receiving mark on the year while the Rebels have gained just 115 yards on the ground through the first two games.  

The Rebels return home on Friday night when they will take on Middletown South in another A North battle.
