Going against a Freehold Township team with just one win so far this year the Howell Rebels looked to be in control against one of their closest rivals on Friday night. In the end the Patriots gave their guests all they could handle before the visitors escaped with a 21-20 win.
Howell had the lead for most of the game, heading into the half with a 14-6 advantage before tacking on another score in the third. Freehold Township was not discouraged as they picked up two scores in the final quarter to keep the game close.
Facing the Freehold defense the Howell offense struggled to get anything going with quarterback Connor McGlynn completing 10 of 21 passes for just 120 yards and picking up another 73 yards on nine carries on the ground. His top target on the night was Jarvis Leaks who had four receptions for 53 yards.
