Student Leaders To Take The Dais At Howell Township Council
Don't miss Student Government Day at the Howell Township Council meeting on Tuesday. Mock meeting starts at 6 p.m.

HOWELL, NJ — Student leaders in the Howell school district will experience local government firsthand before the opening of the regular Howell Township Council meeting on Tuesday.
And items such as National Selfie Day and Adopt-A- Cat Month are on the agenda.
For Student Government Day, "Mayor"Arianna Daber will open the meeting at 6 p.m., with Township Council "members" Sophie Barkalow, Emily Cotton, Sophia Djoulia and Makenna Patterson present.

Student Township Clerk Ella Paoni will be on hand to keep the meeting running smoothly and according to the rules.
And a lot of business will be conducted, according to the agenda.

There will be proclamations naming Flag Day, June 14; National Selfie Day, June 21; National Adopt a Cat Month in June; American Eagle Day, June 21; and National Safety Month in June.
And no meeting would be complete without reports from the council members and hearing comments from the public.
Mayor Daber will also read a statement in the form of an message at the end of the meeting.
Councilwoman Susan Fischer, herself a former teacher, said the day is a great education for the students, who are student leaders in middle school.
They will come into the town hall for a few hours during the day to see how the township government works by visiting employees in different departments, she said.
They they will come back for the mock meeting.
But once the students conduct the meeting, it's back to business as usual.
Mayor Theresa Berger and the Township Council will call the regular meeting to order at 7 p.m.
