Booker vs. Lonegan, Restaurant Night for the Lake

Here's what you need to know for Wednesday.

  • It'sΒ Special Election DayΒ in New Jersey. Throughout the Garden State, voters will cast ballots to decide whether Democrat Cory Booker or Republican Steve Lonegan will take over the seat left vacant after the June death of Sen. Frank Lautenberg. The polls will be open from 6 a.m.-8 p.m.Β Find your polling place in Jefferson TownshipΒ here.Β Be sure to visit Patch tonight after the polls close, when we hope to report results as soon as they become available.
  • TheΒ Lake Hopatcong Foundation hosts a restaurant nightΒ benefitΒ to support its work to improve the lake. Β Have dinner at Gatwyns on Wednesday evening between 5-10 p.m.,Β andΒ 15 percent of your tabΒ will goΒ to the foundation.   • Rehearsals for theΒ Mr. Jefferson contestΒ continue WednesdayΒ at 6 p.m. at Jefferson Township High School. The school can be found atΒ 1010 Weldon Road.
  • The high school also hosts an SAT Preparation Program Tuesday night. The session takes place inΒ Classrooms B-9 and B-10 from 6:30-9:30 p.m.
