Boy Scouts Get Their Hands Dirty To Beautify Garden

A butterfly garden at the library improves because of their work.

With sleeves rolled up and gloves put on, members of Wolf Den 4 of Cub Scout Pack 49 worked to beautify a butterfly garden outside the Jefferson Township Library. The boys tilled the earth, planted flowers, and put down mulch, all in an effort to beautify their local community.

Β Since its origin, the scouting program has been an educational experience concerned with values.Β Β In 1910, the first activities for scouts were designed to build character, physical fitness, practical skills, and service.Β Β These elements were part of the original Cub Scout program and continue to be part of Cub Scouting today.
