Eagle Scout Builds a Memory Garden

Whiz Kid's Name, Age: Michael J. Guarino, Jr., 18

Whiz Kid's School: Jefferson Township High School (senior)

Whiz Kid's Accomplishment: Guarino just received his Eagle Scout honor. A proclamation was read for him at the Jefferson Township council meeting on April 20.

Whiz Kid's Key to Awesomeness: Guarino built a memory garden St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Oak Ridge. The project took 123 man hours.

"The garden has a limestone walkway, a memory garden and a bench," Guarino said. "There was no place for people to sit at the cemetary, so this gives them a place to sit and reflect.
