Jefferson Travel Softball Team Wins Tournament

Play ball! That’s what Jefferson’s girls 10 and under softball team did last weekend, winning the Spring Fever tournament in Lincoln Park and outscoring their opponents by a 46-10 margin.

The girls defeated Nutley by an 11-5 margin to open the tournament last Friday night. 

Saturday morning saw the team take on Montville and win by a score of 7-1. They went on to defeat West Milford by a score of 15-0.

The tournament came to a head on Sunday, when the Falcons defeated West Milford’s gold team 10-2.

A rematch with Montville was up next for the Falcons.

In a nail bitter, the game went to the bottom of the sixth inning, with two outs and a full count on what the Falcons would hope was the final batter. Pitcher Alexa Pettit struck her out to give the Falcons a 3-2 victory.
