Morris County New Year's Baby Hails from Jefferson: It's a Girl!

An Oak Ridge family welcomed its new arrival at Morristown Medical Center at 12:38 a.m. New Year's Day.

Morris County's first new citizen of 2014 made her appearance at Morristown Medical Center at 12:38 a.m. New Year's Day, Atlantic Health announced.

The bundle of joy is swaddled in pink, metaphorically speaking:Β Alice Anna Sandor of Oak Ridge came in at 7 pounds, 6 ounces and was 20 inches long. And while she was born in a hospital, the New Year's babyΒ was also noteworthy in that she wasΒ delivered by a midwife from theΒ Avalon Midwife Group.

The proud parents are elementary school teacherΒ Steve Sandor andΒ Theresa Hunt, who teaches humanities at theΒ New Jersey Institute of Technology. The couple have another daughter, Alice Anna's big sister,Β Lucy.
