Moving On: Harsanyi Speaks at JTMS Graduation
Valedictorian to discuss the collective memories of the middle school class of 2011.

It’s time for Jefferson Township eighth grade students to say goodbye to middle school, and one of their representatives to do that is valedictorian Patrik Harsanyi. The Lake Hopatcong resident will discuss the class of 2011’s past at Tuesday night’s graduation ceremony, in a speech that will last approximately 10 minutes.
“Part of what I’m going to talk about is how I came to get here, and about some of the memories we’ve shared as a class,” Harsanyi said.
One of his favorite memories, he said, was the eighth grade trip to Dorney Park that took places just a couple of weeks ago.

The 14-year-old Harsanyi was born in Hungary, and came to the USA when he was three. He plays football and lacrosse and wrestles, and also attends Hungarian boy scouts.
He also graduated from Hungarian school, where he learned about the culture of his native country, as well as the language and information about his personal lineage.

Harsanyi said he’ll miss a lot about the middle school, including the teachers who were so helpful to him.
And the thing he’s most looking forward to about high school is also the thing that makes him the most nervous.
“I’m looking forward to achieving all that I can, and getting good grades, but it’s only going to get more challenging from here,” Harsanyi said. “I’m looking forward to that challenge, but I’m nervous about it too.”
