Police Look Into Suspicious Activity
The following information was supplied by the Jefferson Township police department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Police checked into two recent incidents of suspicious activitiy, but neither has yet resulted in an arrest.
A resident of Colonial Oaks Drive reported a suspicious man knocking on the front door and then walking around the residence looking in the windows, police said. Police came to investigate, but the man was gone upon the officers’ arrival.
A resident of Pearl Lane reported that two men, identifying themselves as Verizon employees, approached him asking for the location of another residence on Pearl Lane, police said. When the resident asked the men for ID or a work order, they were unable to provide either and left the area, police said. Police contacted Verizon and the company denied any work being done in the area.

In addition, police investigated the theft a laptop from the Old Ringling Manor on Manor Drive, but have not yet reported any arrest. Det. Joe Kratzel and the Morris County Sheriff’s Crime Scene Unit responded.
