Prospect Point Fire Station Renovations to Begin Soon

Space to bays, dormer to be added.

. and township officials received a rough plan for the new space, and are ready to share the plan with residents in the area.

The plan includes the extension of the current two bays by five feet each.

β€œWe originally had in mind to add a third bay, but because of wetlands issues, we couldn’t do that,” said business administrator James Leach. β€œWe decided on the extension instead.”

β€œMost of the responders respond out of the Prospect Point substation,” volunteer firefighter Jeff Bessemer said in an interview back in February. β€œWhen we go to the house on Rt. 15, we have to move other equipment to get to the dive equipment, then get all the way back to the lake. Moving this equipment to Prospect Point will let us get to it faster and enhance our response time.”

In addition to notifying all residents that live within 200 feet of the station, fire company no. 2 plans to offer a public viewing of the Prospect Point station with markers set out showing where the additions will go.
