Roller Coasters Are for Theme Parks, Not Dieting
Welcome to the latest installment of the diet diaries.

So, I lost 2.2 pounds in the first week of the latest round of the Biggest Loser competition, and I gained back two of them this week. Stop the roller coaster! I want to get off!
But therein lies the problem. How do I get off? How do I stop myself from eating when I’m stressed? That really does seem to be my biggest issue of late. Things get hectic, and I pick up whatever is around to eat, rather than taking the time to make a healthy choice. So how do I stop it?
I was chatting with a friend of mine last weekend, who gave me the advice to work on myself. When other things arent’ going right, she said, work on yourself, because that’s really the only thing you can change.

That makes a lot of sense to me. It seems that as wives and mothers and employees, we work all tend to work on everyone and everything else first, and save ourselves for last, if we even count ourselves in at all. Maybe that’s the wrong way to do things. Maybe we need to think more about ourselves, to make ourselves better for everyone else in our lives.
What do you think? Do you put yourself on the back burner to take care of everyone else in your life? How would you like to start to work on yourself? Tell me in the comment section below.

On a final note, I apologize that this column is a day late. Jefferson had some pretty big news on Monday, and Patch wanted to make sure that everyone was in the know.
