Scout Leader Thanks Residents Who Donated Food
Pack 49 collects food for New Hope Food Pantry.
Dear Editor,
Β
On April 2 and 3, Cub Scout Pack 49 of Jefferson conducted βScouting For Food.β Β The pack participates in βScouting For Foodβ annually.Β Food donations are requested and then donated to the New Hope Food Pantry, which is operated out of Milton United Methodist Church.Β This yearβs drive took place at the A&P on Berkshire Valley Road in Jefferson.
Β
My most sincere gratitude and appreciation go out to the many Jefferson Township residents who showed compassion and caring for their needy neighbors by choosing to make additional purchases and donate them to the food pantry for distribution to local residents in need of help.
Β
The kindness and generosity I witnessed this past weekend were truly amazing.Β We were continuously and pleasantly surprised by people exiting the store and placing more bags in our carts than they were taking to their own cars.Β These difficult economic times we are currently experiencing made these donations even more impactful.
Β
Both the adults and children who participated in βScouting For Foodβ were all enriched by the experiences we had over the two days.Β This was a truly blessed event.Β Thank you to all who participated.
