The season that looked like it would never end finally did end on Tuesday night for Jefferson Major league girls recreation softball. After a season filled with weather delays, the league was able to play it last two playoff games this week.
The Yankees, coached by Mike Serafino, brought his team back from the losers' bracket with decisive back-to-back victories over the Dodgers to take home the championship. The Yankees won their game Monday night by the score of 12-0, aided by a strong defense that allowed only four girls to reach base.

Tuesday's game was a bit closer. The Yankees took a 1-0 lead in the first, only to fall behind the next inning 4-1. The Yankees battled back and took an 8-4 lead into the fourth and never looked back, winning the game by a final score of 19-13. Both teams played a good game with solid fielding and hitting.
