Lacey To Increase Drunk Driving Patrols Over Super Bowl Weekend, Police Chief Says

Police chief suggests using designated drivers.

Zero tolerance.

That's Police Chief Michael C. DiBella's take on anyone who drives drunk in Lacey Township anytime. And this weekend, Lacey police will add more drunk driving patrols over Super Bowl weekend.

"If drivers are caught operating their vehicle while impaired by drugs and /or alcohol, they will be arrested," the chief said.

The enhanced patrols will start on Feb. 3 and run through Feb. 5. Lacey is using dedicated Drunk Driving Enforcement Funds for the increased patrols, DiBella said.

The chief suggests using designated drivers if you plan to go out.

"Throughout 2017, the officers of the Lacey Township Police Department will continue to detect and deter DUI offenders through both DUI Patrols and approved DUI checkpoints," he said.
