Tonight Is Skate Park Night At Gille Park In Lacey

Come and have fun from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Get out your skateboards, scooters and in-line skates. It's skate park night at Gille Park.

The skate park opens at 6 p.m. and will run until 10 p.m. There will be a live DJ, and a mobile gaming trailer provided by "Party Crashers" from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. with age-appropriate games, Police Chief Michael C. DiBella said.

The "Party Crashers" trailer participated in last year's Lacey Day event and in numerous events throughout Ocean County.

The skate park is only for the use of skateboards, scooters, and in-line skates. Bicycles are not permitted. All users must wear a helmet in the skate park at all times, and follow all posted skate park rules. Bottled water is permitted in the park. Tom and Dee's Italian Ice will be on location.

Lighting will be provided by the Lacey Township Police Department with assistance from both the Forked River and Lanoka Harbor Fire Departments. In addition, both the Lacey Township EMS and Lanoka Harbor EMS will be on the scene.

The next skate park night will be held from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday, June 30. Additional dates will be announced.

The event is coordinated by the Lacey Township Recreation Department, the Lacey Township Police Department, the Lacey Township Municipal Alliance, and the Lacey Municipal Police Foundation.
