Virginia Man Shoplifts Sub Sandwich, Steals Items From Car In Lacey Walmart, Police Say

Allen C. Morgan charged with burglary, theft and marijuana possession, police chief says.

Virginia resident Allen C. Morgan must have been hungry.

Lacey Police Chief Michael C. DiBella said Morgan, 57, Hampton, Virginia first shoplifted a $3.98 Marketside Italian sub from Walmart, then broke into a vehicle in the parking lot. He is accused of stealing a Garmin GPS and a pack of cigarettes.

Officer Michael Hein responded to the store at 9:34 a.m. on June 1 on a report of a car burglary in the parking lot. Police located and stopped the suspect's vehicle in the ShopRite plaza.

Investigation at the scene led to Morgan's arrest for burglary of an automobile and the theft of a Garmin GPS and a pack of cigarettes, with a total value of $58, the chief said. He was also found to be in possession of a controlled dangerous substance, DiBella said .

Morgan was taken to police headquarters, where he was charged with burglary, theft, shoplifting, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, the chief said.
